Why We Use Mancine Professional Wax

At True Indigo Spa, we believe the quality of your experience starts with the products we use — and that's why we exclusively use Mancine Professional Wax.

🌿 Excellence Since 1965:
Founded in Melbourne, Australia, Mancine has built a global reputation for their innovative, high-performance waxing products trusted by professionals worldwide.

🌿 Ultra Flexxx Technology:
Mancine's specialized formulas, including Ultra Flexxx blends with natural ingredients like blueberry, jojoba, kiwi, and aloe, are designed to deliver a gentle yet effective waxing experience — even for sensitive skin types.

🌿 Low-Temperature Comfort:
Mancine wax melts at a lower temperature than many other brands, allowing for thinner application, less redness, and minimal discomfort during your service.

When you choose True Indigo Spa, you’re choosing premium products and professional care — and we believe your skin deserves nothing less.

Pre-Waxing Preparation

A little prep can make your waxing experience smoother and help you achieve longer-lasting results. Follow these tips before your appointment:

✔️ Hair Length:
Make sure the hair is at least ¼ inch long (about the length of a grain of rice) to ensure effective removal.

✔️ Exfoliate (Body Waxing Only):
Gently exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment to lift trapped hairs and prep the skin.

✔️ No Lotions or Oils (Body Waxing Only):
Avoid applying body lotions or oils on the day of your wax to ensure better adherence of the wax.

✔️ Clean, Makeup-Free Skin (Facial Waxing Only):
Come with clean skin, free of makeup or heavy skincare products, to reduce the risk of irritation and breakouts.

✔️ Stay Hydrated:
Well-hydrated skin responds better to waxing — another great reason to drink your water!

✔️ No Tanning:
Avoid tanning beds and sun exposure for 48 hours before your waxing session.
Spray tans should be scheduled at least 24 hours after waxing to avoid patchiness.

✔️ Pain Management:
If desired (and if you have no allergies), you may take ibuprofen or Advil 30–45 minutes before your appointment to minimize discomfort — though many clients find waxing quick and tolerable without it!

✔️ First-Time Waxers:
If it’s your first time, schedule your appointment a few days before big events, vacations, or photoshoots in case your skin needs time to calm.

Post-Waxing Aftercare

Taking care of your freshly waxed skin is just as important as your pre-wax prep. Here's how to protect your results and avoid irritation:

✔️ Avoid Heat:
Skip hot baths, saunas, and steam rooms for 12–24 hours after waxing.

✔️ Prevent Breakouts (Face, Back, Chest Waxing):
Use a professional-grade anti-acne lotion twice daily until any breakouts clear.

✔️ No Suntanning:
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 12–24 hours to prevent irritation and pigmentation.

✔️ Avoid Fragranced Products:
Steer clear of perfumes, deodorants, heavily scented lotions, and makeup on the waxed area for the first day.

✔️ Gentle Exfoliation (After 24 Hours):
If you're prone to ingrown hairs, gently exfoliate the waxed area with a loofah or soft brush starting 24 hours after your treatment — but avoid harsh scrubs.

✔️ Hold Off on High-SPF Sunscreens:
Sunscreens and self-tanning products can irritate freshly waxed skin. Wait 12–24 hours before applying.

✔️ Mild Pinkness is Normal:
Some redness or "pinking" is normal and should subside within 6–8 hours. This means the hair was properly removed from the root — giving you longer-lasting smoothness!

✔️ Stay Consistent:
For the best results, schedule your waxing appointments every 4–6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle.

Important Waxing Contraindications

Waxing may not be safe if you:

  • Are currently taking antibiotics or acne medications (like Accutane)

  • Are using peeling agents or strong exfoliants (such as Retin-A, AHAs over 8%, or salicylic acid)

  • Have varicose veins, bruising, or recent scar tissue

  • Are experiencing sunburn, sensitive skin from tanning beds, or active skin disorders

  • Are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation

  • Have diabetes (some individuals may have slower healing responses)

If any of these apply to you, please consult with your skincare professional prior to waxing.

Additional Waxing Considerations

🌿 Menstruation:
You can still get waxed during your period, but keep in mind that your skin may feel more sensitive.

🌿 Pregnancy or Hormone Treatments:
Hormonal changes can make the skin more sensitive. We recommend a small patch test before proceeding with a full area.

🌿 Skin Conditions:
If you smoke or have Rosacea, waxing may irritate dilated capillaries. Be cautious and discuss concerns with your esthetician.

🌿 Caffeine and Alcohol:
These stimulants can heighten skin sensitivity. It's best to avoid them a few hours before your appointment.

🌿 Heavy Exfoliators:
Stop using strong exfoliating products at least 3 days before and after waxing.
If you're using high-strength AHAs, salicylic acid, or enzyme-based treatments, allow more time (or consult your esthetician) before waxing safely.
